Development of a network of organisations against human trafficking in Eastern Europe and Asia aimed at the safe return of victims of human trafficking. Research and policy advice on best practices and lobbying the European Union to get the subject higher on the political agenda.

‘La Strada Program: Prevention of Traffic in Women in Central and Eastern Europe’
Foundation against Trafficking in Women (now: CoMensha)
Initiator and international coordinator of La Strada, the first NGO network against trafficking in women in Central and Eastern Europe. Led teams of national coordinators in the various La Strada countries. Integrally responsible for program development, fundraising, reporting, budget management and relationship management with stakeholders and grant providers. La Strada focuses on prevention of human trafficking, shelter for returning victims and policy influencing with three continuous campaigns. La Strada has grown from a one-year pilot project in Poland and the Czech Republic to an international network organization in seven Central and Eastern European countries (in addition to Poland and the Czech Republic, also Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Bulgaria and Macedonia) and an international secretariat in Amsterdam. CoMensha is the 8th member.

‘Integration of Assistance and Identification of Victims of Trafficking in Women’
Foundation against Trafficking in Women (now: CoMensha)
Project development and management of a network in the province of Gelderland (Arnhem, Apeldoorn and Nijmegen), in which civil society organizations worked together to provide victims of trafficking in women with the best possible support. This project was the first Dutch initiative for chain cooperation around the care for victims of human trafficking. It was the blueprint for developing similar networks with regard to human trafficking throughout the Netherlands.
