With my roots in Groningen (Winschoten, 1964), I studied ‘International Organizations and International Organizations’ (IRIO) at the University of Groningen and have been working at both national and international level ever since. Human rights and vulnerable groups are a strong personal motivation and are therefore the central theme in my career.
I have been active in various roles since 2007 as an expert in the youth, social and safety domain regarding domestic violence and child abuse and other vulnerable groups, in combination with a long career in fighting human trafficking since the early 1990s. I am one of the founders of the ‘La Strada network’ in which organizations from Central and Eastern Europe work together against human trafficking.
I feel at home in the non-profit sector and work for municipalities and the national government as well as for civil society organizations, both at national and international level. The role of project manager suits me perfectly, but I also like to get my teeth into jobs as a policy advisor, interim manager, researcher, trainer and chair.

Writing talent
I write well and easily, both in English and Dutch.
